Lacazette made his return to action for the north London side on Sunday when he came off the bench to help the Gunners secure a 3-0 win over Stoke City at The Emirates.
The French striker, who signed for the Gunners from Lyon back in July last year, had been out of action with a knee injury but is now back and ready to fight for a starting spot between now and the end of the season.
Lacazette netted Arsenal’s third goal from the penalty spot against Stoke last weekend after Wenger opted to deploy him up front and move January signing Aubameyang to the left wing.
And Arsenal legend Nicholas feels that is the best attacking set-up for Wenger in the closing stages of the campaign.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Nicholas said: “I’d like to see Arsenal finish the league season the way they rounded that game off, with Aubameyang coming in off the left and Lacazette central – surely that is the reason Arsene Wenger signed both?”
Arsenal will return to Europa League action on Thursday night when they take on CSKA Moscow in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash at The Emirates.
The Gunners will then take on Southampton at The Emirates on Sunday.
