Jack Wilshere has taken to social media to poke fun at Danny Welbeck for his glaring miss in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday.

The England striker missed a huge opportunity to score for the Gunners with the score at 2-2 at The Emirates after he found himself in front of goal thanks to Wilshere’s cross.

However, Welbeck blazed his effort over the crossbar when it looked easier to score than to miss.

Luckily for Arsenal, Welbeck did not rue the missed chance for too long, as the striker ended up netting the eventual winner shortly after to secure the three points for the Gunners at The Emirates.

And Wilshere could not help but poke some fun at Welbeck after his missed chance on Sunday afternoon: “The winning run continues 🙌 well done to my boy @dannywelbeck could’ve got himself a hatrick and me an assist but i forgive you mate 😂👊❤”

Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League table as they bid to try and finish as highly as possible in the top flight.

The Gunners will now turn their attentions back towards Europa League affairs and their crunch clash against CSKA Moscow in the return leg of their quarter-final clash on Thursday night.

Arsenal won the first leg 4-1 against the Russian side to take a big step towards reaching the last four.
