Luis Enrique will look to sign Andres Iniesta for Arsenal if he is appointed as the north London side’s new manager this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish newspaper AS, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the former FC Barcelona manager would look to bring the World Cup winner to The Emirates as his first signing should he move to the north London club.

Arsenal are on the lookout for a new manager after Arsene Wenger announced last week that he will be stepping down at the end of the season after 22 years in charge of the club.

Enrique has been touted as a possible candidate to take over from Wenger at Arsenal, but the 47-year-old has also been linked with the Chelsea FC job this summer.

According to the same story, Iniesta is a target for Manchester City as Pep Guardiola looks for a reunion with his former FC Barcelona player.

However, it is also claimed that Enrique will make an offer for Iniesta if he does indeed end up taking over at Arsenal in the summer.

Arsenal are currently preparing for the first leg of their crunch Europa League semi-final clash against Atletico Madrid at The Emirates on Thursday night.
