Arsenal could be one of the clubs interested in signing John Stones from Manchester City this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun is reporting that the Citizens are willing to let the England international leave The Etihad at the end of the season after he fell down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola at the club.

The arrival of Aymeric Laporte in the January transfer window has moved him down to fourth place in the pecking order for a starting spot at The Etihad.

According to the same report, Guardiola is a fan of Stones but would be reluctantly open to letting the 23-year-old leave in the summer for the good of his own career.

The same story says that Manchester City would be likely to want to recoup most of the £47.5m they paid to sign him from Everton two years ago.

And the article claims that Arsenal could be one of the clubs interested in signing him once Arsene Wenger’s successor is named at The Emirates.

The same story suggests Liverpool FC could be another club interested in landing Stones in the the summer transfer window.

The defender has scored three goals in 27 appearances in all competitions for Manchester City this season, but he has only started 14 league games.
