Thierry Henry reacts to Arsenal’s 4-1 win over West Ham
Thierry Henry has his say after Arsenal's 4-1 win over West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday
Thierry Henry praised Arsenal for getting a win for Arsene Wenger after the Gunners claimed a 4-1 win over West Ham United at The Emirates.
Sunday’s game was the north London side’s first match since Wenger announced he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.
Arsenal took the lead in the 51st minute through Nacho Monreal, but Marko Arnautovic levelled for the visitors shortly after.
Aaron Ramsey then put Arsenal back in front in the 82nd minute before Alexandre Lacazette struck twice late on to secure the victory and leave the Gunners in sixth place in the Premier League table.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Henry said: “West Ham deserved to score from their first half and in the second half it was typical Arsenal.
“They scored that goal from Aaron Ramsey. I wouldn’t say that it was a lucky goal because it’s a cross that you have to put in.
“The result looks great at the end. It’s also a good one for the boss, they gave him the win. And it was also about creating that gap from Burnley.”
Arsenal will now switch their attentions back towards Europa League affairs and their crunch clash against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their semi-final tie at The Emirates on Thursday night.
With the Gunners currently outside the top four spots in the Premier League, their best hope of qualifying for next season’s Champions League is to win the Europa League this term.
