Arsenal are keen on signing Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Gunners are keen on tying up a deal to bring the 21-year-old to The Emirates as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his midfield options this summer.

According to the same story, Arsenal have been in contact with Ndidi’s representatives to sound out the potential for a summer move to the north London club for the midfielder.

“There has been so much interest in him. He is going to be a top player and Arsenal have been in contact,” a source close to Ndidi told the Sun, as quoted in the Daily Mirror article.

“They want to sign him this summer. Arsene Wenger is a manager he admires a lot and his friend Alex Iwobi has told him lots of great things about the club.”

The defensive midfielder has been in good form for Leicester City so far this season and has been a regular fixture in the first team.

He has notched up 31 Premier League appearances for the Foxes and has made three assists for his team-mates.

Arsenal are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Wenger looks to assemble a team capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.

The Gunners are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table and look as though they will miss out on a top-four finish for the second season running.
