Michael Owen is backing Arsenal to secure a comfortable win against Southampton at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners were 3-0 winners against Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium last weekend thanks to goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

Arsenal are looking to mount a belated challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season following a difficult top-flight campaign.

The north London side are in sixth place in the Premier League table but 13 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with seven games to go.

Arsene Wenger’s side have lost three of their last six Premier League games but the Gunners will take on a Southampton side tumbling towards the Championship.

The Saints lost 3-0 to West Ham United in their first game under the management of their ex-striker Mark Hughes.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is tipping Arsenal to pick up three points against the Saints at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

“Arsenal were flattered by their 3-0 win at home to Stoke on Sunday but they have goals in their side and they face a Southampton side on Sunday who have never won at Arsenal in 18 previous attempts in the Premier League,” Owen told BetVictor.

“The Gunners have won their last two Premier League games 3-0 while Saints have lost their last two 3-0. I cannot see past another home win.”

Arsenal missed out on a Champions League spot for the first time under Wenger last season after the Gunners finished behind Liverpool FC in the top-four race.

The north London side signed Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the January transfer window.
