Arsenal are interested in signing Atalanta’s 17-year-old Dejan Kulusevski in the summer, according to a report in Italy.

Italian website Calciomercato, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Gunners are interested in a potential swoop for the Atalanta prospect.

The same article states that Kulusevski is attracting interest from a number of top Serie A clubs after his breakthrough season at the Italian club.

Kulusevski has scored five goals and has made five assists for Atalanta’s second string to attract interest from the Gunners.

According to the same story, Sven Mislintat wants the Atalanta starlet as the Arsenal sporting director eyes an overhaul of the Gunners squad.

The Gunners are in sixth spot in the Premier League table and 13 points adrift of Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur in the final two Champions League qualification spots.

Arsenal are facing the prospect of another season without Champions League football but the north London can still qualify for Europe’s top competition.

Arsene Wenger signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a club record £56m deal from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.

The Gunners recruited Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a swap deal from Manchester United earlier this year.
