Arsenal warned top 22-year-old will cost at least £100m
Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev warns Arsenal and Liverpool FC that Thomas Lemar will cost more than £100m
Monaco have warned Arsenal and Liverpool FC that Thomas Lemar will cost at least £100m in the 2018 summer transfer window.
The France international has been linked with a move to the Premier League over the past 12 months since his impressive form at AS Monaco.
Lemar played a key role in AS Monaco’s title success last term following a return of eight goals and nine assists in the 2016-17 season.
The forward helped AS Monaco to reach the Champions League semi-finals last term before a loss to Serie A giants Juventus.
Lemar was the subject of a £92m offer from Arsenal on transfer deadline day last summer but the Monaco striker turned down a proposed move to the Gunners.
Liverpool FC were also linked with a potential switch but Monaco managed to keep hold of their asset to soften the blow of losing Bernardo Silva, Kylian Mbappe, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Benjamin Mendy.
Asked whether Lemar would cost £100m in the 2018 summer transfer window during an interview with Telefoot, Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev said as quoted by TEAMtalk:
“Good luck to those who want him.”
Arsenal suffered a humiliating 2-1 loss to Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Saturday despite Alexandre Lacazette making the breakthrough in the first half.
