Martin Keown believes Antonio Conte is desperate to lead Chelsea FC to FA Cup glory this season.

The Blues were 2-0 winners against Southampton in the semi-final at Wembley last weekend courtesy of goals from Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata.

Chelsea FC have struggled to impress in the Premier League this season despite winning the title with two games to spare last term.

indeed, Conte was widely praised for his tactical innovation after Chelsea FC enjoyed great success with their 3-4-3 formation.

The Blues lost 2-1 to bitter London rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup final last season to miss out on a domestic double.

Conte’s bitter foe Jose Mourinho and his Manchester United are all that stand in Chelsea FC’s way in pursuit of a first FA Cup under the Italian.

Former Arsenal defender Keown claimed that Conte will be desperate to win the FA Cup, especially with his future at Stamford Bridge far from certain.

“Antonio Conte, on the other hand, is yet to win a domestic cup competition having lost last year’s FA Cup final and the final of the 2012 Coppa Italia with Juventus,” Keown told the Daily Mail.

“His team won 30 of their 38 league games last season but for some reason he is yet to find a way to be successful in one-off showpieces.

“If this is to be Conte’s final game in charge at Chelsea, he will want to go out a winner. A Premier League and an FA Cup in two years would be a very good return.

“During Chelsea’s semi-final with Southampton, Conte did not sit down for the whole match. There is still plenty of fight left in him.”

Chelsea FC signed England international Ross Barkley, AS Roma defender Emerson Palmieri and Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window.

The Blues have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and then Conte.
