Pat Nevin admits he will be disappointed if Antonio Conte leaves Chelsea FC in the summer.

The Italian head coach has been facing relentless speculation surrounding his future in recent months following Chelsea FC’s difficult start to 2018.

Conte’s side have lost four of their last six Premier League games to lose ground on their top-four rivals in the race to secure a Champions League spot.

The Chelsea FC boss guided the west London side to Premier League title glory in his first season in English football after he replaced Guus Hiddink in 2016.

The Blues lost 4-1 to FC Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 to heap further pressure on Conte following their European disappointment.

Chelsea FC could still win the FA Cup but the west London side must first get past Southampton in the last four.

Former Blues winger Nevin is hoping that Conte does remain at Chelsea FC, although the retired Scotland international is certain the Blues would find a suitable replacement.

“I’d be disappointed but add that to the list of managers I was disappointed to see leave Chelsea,” Nevin told Newstalk. “They’ll probably just get another good manager in.”

Chelsea FC won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season after finishing seven points ahead of Tottenham.

The Blues signed Everton star Ross Barkley, AS Roma defender Emerson Palmieri and Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud this term.
