Jamie Redknapp believes Antonio Conte would be satisfied with success in the FA Cup before leaving Chelsea FC in the summer.

The Italian head coach has endured a difficult second season at Stamford Bridge despite winning the Premier League title at a canter last term.

Chelsea FC finished seven points clear of runners up Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League title race to go from tenth place to English champions.

However, the Blues have struggled to put together a title defence and are a staggering 32 points behind runaway leaders Manchester City.

Chelsea FC are five points behind Tottenham Hotspur in fourth place to leave the Blues facing the real prospect of no Champions League football next term.

Conte has been facing speculation surrounding his future following their disappointing form in the current campaign.

Chelsea FC will take on Southampton in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley this month following a 2-1 win over Leicester City last month.

However, former Liverpool FC captain Redknapp believes Conte would be happy to call time on his Chelsea FC reign with a FA Cup title.

Redknapp told Sky Sports: “[This is] what I suspect will be his final season in charge at Chelsea.

“But after winning the title so impressively last season, if he can sign off by winning the FA Cup, he will still be able to look back on two successful years and leave with his head held high.”

Chelsea lost 4-1 to FC Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 last month to miss out on European glory.
