Olivier Giroud believes Chelsea FC can rescue their season if Antonio Conte’s men win the FA Cup.

The Blues won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season after the west London outfit finished seven points ahead of their closest title challengers Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea FC have struggled to defend their crown and Conte’s side are 27 points adrift of runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City following an inconsistent season for the Blues.

Giroud moved to Chelsea FC in a £21m deal from Arsenal on transfer deadline day in the 2018 January transfer window after the French striker fell down the pecking order under Arsene Wenger.

The Frenchman has scored five times and has made two assists since his move to Chelsea, including their two-goal salvo in Chelsea FC’s 3-2 win over Southampton at St Mary’s earlier this month.

Giroud continue his prolific run with the opening goal in Chelsea FC’s 2-0 win against Southampton in the FA Cup semi-final.

The January signing believes winning the FA Cup would make amends for Chelsea FC’s disappointing Premier League campaign.

“Everything is a possibility when you’re playing. We have gone into the final and the World Cup is coming so let’s wait and see,” Giroud told Chelsea FC’s website.

“The league has not gone as expected so if we did manage to win the FA Cup it would somewhat rescue the season.”

Chelsea FC have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and Conte.
