The Brazil international started the season out of favour under Antonio Conte after Willian struggled to hold down a regular starting spot last term.
Indeed, Willian started 15 times and made 15 appearances from the bench in Chelsea FC’s title-winning campaign in 2016-17.
However, the South American has fought his way back into the starting XI as the Blues toiled in the defence of their Premier League title.
Willian has scored six goals and has made seven assists in 32 games in the Premier League this season to help cover some of the deficiencies in the Blues team.
Eden Hazard is regarded by most as Chelsea FC’s best player following his key role in their title successes in 2015 and 2017.
However, former Spurs forward Crooks believes Willian has been Chelsea FC’s outstanding player in the current campaign.
“I think this lad has been Chelsea’s best player this season,” Crooks told BBC Sport.
“He provided two assists against Southampton and has been as consistent as anyone in the Blues line-up.”
Chelsea FC have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons.
The Blues are in fifth place in the Premier League table and seven points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea FC will take on Southampton in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley later this month.
