Chelsea FC have made contact with Massimiliano Allegri’s camp to sound out the possibility of him taking over at Stamford Bridge this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the Blues have made contact with Allegri’s representatives at an intermediary level as they begin to look for Antonio Conte’s successor.

Chelsea FC are believed to be on the lookout for a new manager after the Blues’ disappointing campaign under Conte this term left them in fifth place in the Premier League and with their chances of a top-four finish looking bleak.

According to the same story, Chelsea FC believe that Allegri, 50, would be tempted by the chance to take over at Stamford Bridge, despite having two more years left to run on his contract with Juventus.

The same report says that former FC Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is one of the other potential candidates in line to take over at Chelsea FC this summer.

Chelsea FC look on course to miss out on Champions League qualification for next season after their disappointing 3-1 loss to Tottenham at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

That result left the Blues in fifth place and eight points behind fourth-placed Spurs with seven games left to play this season.
