The Blues suffered a damaging blow to their hopes of Champions League qualification last weekend when they lost 3-1 to Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.
The west London side won the Premier League title in style last term but they have struggled to produce consistent form in the top flight this season.
With seven games left to play this season, it remains to be seen whether the Blues will be able to break back into the top four before the campaign is over.
Indeed, Conte’s future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks following the Blues’ disappointing form in 2018.
However, Conte has insisted that he is not giving up hope of the Blues finishing in the top four this season.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference at Cobham on Friday, Conte said: “We had the opportunity to reduce the gap on Tottenham but at the same time, we have to try and continue to have the possibility to fight for a place in the Champions League.
“It won’t be easy and we must be realistic, but at the same time we have to give 100 per cent and show pride, desire and will to fight until the end of the season. This must be our target for the rest of the season now.
“We want to have the opportunity to fight for a place in the Champions League, by finishing in the top four.
“I think everyone has to show pride, desire and a will to fight until the end of the season. This is very important for me, my staff and for my players to show this. Also, our supporters deserve at least this.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action on Sunday when they host West Ham United at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues could yet still end the season with a trophy as they take on Southampton in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley later this month.
