Chelsea FC have moved a step closer to appointing Max Allegri as their new manager this summer after Juventus lined up Zinedine Zidane as his replacement, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Express is reporting that Chelsea FC are poised to sack Antonio Conte at the end of the season to bering an end to the Italian’s spell at Stamford Bridge.

The same report says that it was expected that Chelsea FC would appoint form FC Barcelona boss Luis Enrique as Conte’s successor.

However, Enrique is said to be still pondering his options and that has prompted Roman Abramovich to look elsewhere for a new Chelsea FC manager, according to the same story.

The same report says that Zidane is set to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season and that he would be keen to take over at Juventus.

And that would “pave the way” for Allegri to move to Stamford Bridge to take over at Chelsea FC this summer.

Chelsea FC are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table after a difficult second season under Conte.

However, the Blues do still have hope of winning a trophy this term, with the west London side set to take on Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semi-finals later this month.
