Chelsea FC ready £65m offer for top Serie A defender – report
Chelsea FC are interested in Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to a report in Italy
Chelsea FC are prepared to make a £65m offer to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to a report in Italy.
The Italian media outlet Il Mattino, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Blues are interested in a deal to bring the Senegal international to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Koulibaly has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League over the past two or three season amid reported interest from Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC in the African centre-half.
The same article states that Napoli would find it difficult to reject a £65m offer for the African star despite Koulibaly being a key player for the Naples club in the title race this term.
Indeed, the 26-year-old scored a bullet header in Napoli’s 1-0 win over Juventus in Turin last weekend to secure a vital three points and move the second-placed team to within a point of the defending champions.
However, the Italian media outlet suggest Koulibaly could be reluctant to move to Chelsea FC if the Blues miss out on a Champions League spot.
Chelsea FC are in fifth place in the Premier League table and five points behind Tottenham Hotspur.
