Don Balon, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the deposed Premier League champions are looking to improve their attacking options ahead of next season after surrendering their crown to Manchester City.
The same article states that Chelsea FC are desperate to sign highly-rated Real Madrid playmaker Asensio at the end of the season following a frustrating campaign for the Spanish starlet.
However, the Blues could be used by Asensio to negotiate a better deal at Real Madrid and ensure los Blancos don’t add to their array of attacking talent if he opts to remain at The Bernbeu.
The 22-year-old’s route to the first-team is already congested with big names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Isco, Lucas Vazquez all occupying attacking spots in Zinedine Zidane’s team.
Asensio has scored 10 times and has made six assists in 17 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the current La Liga campaign.
He has also made one assist in the Champions League but has largely been used as an impact player from the bench as Real Madrid look to win the competition for a third successive season.
