Paul Merson is fully expecting to see Chelsea FC beat Tottenham Hotspur in the crunch Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Blues head into the game looking to beat Spurs and reignite their hopes of finishing in the top four this season.

Chelsea FC are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table and five points behind Mauricio Pochettino’s men as they look to try and break back into the top four before the season is out.

The west London side head into the game knowing that victory over the Lilywhites would leave them just two points behind Spurs as the race for Champions League qualification hots up.

Spurs have been in good form in the Premier League of late but former Arsenal star Merson is fully expecting to see Chelsea FC claim all three points in west London this weekend.

Writing in his column for the Daily Star, Merson said: “I think Chelsea will win. They have home advantage and if there’s no Harry Kane, Tottenham must rely on Son and Christian Eriksen. It’s not enough.

“Chelsea have more match-winners right now and I expect them to turn it on. Their form has been terrible lately but they have to win this game to stay in touch.”

Chelsea FC won the Premier League title in style last season as they lifted the trophy in Antonio Conte’s first campaign in charge at the club.

However, they have struggled to produce consistent form this season to leave them fighting for the FA Cup and Champions League qualification this season.
