Paul Ince is backing Chelsea FC to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Sunday with a 2-0 victory over West Ham United.

The Blues will welcome their London rivals West Ham to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

The defending Premier League champions are eight points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the race to secure a Champions League spot.

Chelsea FC suffered their first loss to Spurs at Stamford Bridge since 1990 last weekend after goals from Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli sealed a 3-1 win.

West Ham were surprise 3-0 winners against Mark Hughes’ Southampton side at the London Stadium last weekend.

Former Manchester United midfielder Ince is adamant that Chelsea FC will avoid a potential banana skin against Hughes’ Saints team.

“There’s some exciting games this week, and this should be an interesting watch on Sunday,” Ince told the DDaily Express.

“Chelsea looked dreadful against Spurs, but I can’t see where David Moyes’ men are going to challenge them this weekend. Though I must say I’m more than happy to be proved wrong!”

Chelsea FC won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season after the Blues finish seven points clear of Tottenham.

The Blues suffered a disappointing 4-1 loss to Spanish giants FC Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 last month.

The west London side signed Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud and AS Roma defender Emerson Palmieri in the January transfer window.

Chelsea FC haven’t won the Champions League since 2012 under Roberto di Matteo.
