The defending Premier League champions will welcome another of their London rivals to Stamford Bridge following a disappointing run of results for Antonio Conte’s men in the Premier League.
Tottenham won their first game at the west London club since 1990 last weekend after goals from Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli sealed a 3-1 win over Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
Chelsea FC are in fifth place in the Premier League table and eight points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham.
West Ham were surprise 3-0 winners against Mark Hughes’ Southampton side at the London Stadium last weekend to give them renewed hope of beating the drop under David Moyes.
Former Arsenal star Merson is backing Chelsea FC to beat West Ham in the London derby at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
“It’s a big game but I do fancy Chelsea. After last week, though West Ham had a good result, it’s a huge game for Chelsea,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“Chelsea have to put a show on for their fans after last week against Tottenham. That was a disaster.
“Fair play to West Ham last week, to turn up in major pressure. It’s unbelievable. For me, I just think this is a game too far for them.”
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title with two games to spare last season after the Blues finish seven points clear of Tottenham.
The Blues suffered a disappointing 4-1 loss to Spanish giants FC Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 last month.
The west London side lost 2-1 to Arsenal in the League Cup semi-finals earlier this year.
