Jamie Redknapp singled out Loris Karius for special praise after the goalkeeper’s impressive display in Liverpool FC’s goalless draw with Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.

The German shot-stopper has been holding down the number one spot at Anfield in recent weeks after seemingly surpassing Simon Mignolet as the number one in Jurgen klopp’s side.

Karius was in good form for Liverpool FC as they recorded an impressive 3-0 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League at Anfield last week.

And the German once again put in a good display for Liverpool FC in the crunch clash with Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime.

Karius showed impressive reflexes to deny Yannick Bolasie’s curling effort in the 23rd minute at Goodison Park.

And former Liverpool FC midfielder Redknapp was particularly impressed by Karius’ display against the Toffees on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking during Sky Sports‘ coverage of the game, Redknapp said: “Watch the keeper’s feet. It’s a brilliant save, it was a touch of class.

“And that’s what he’s going to need – he’s going to have to make saves like that on Tuesday night [against Manchester City].”

Karius will be hoping to line up for the Reds when they return to Champions League action with the return leg of their crunch clash against Manchester City at The Etihad on Tuesday night.

The Reds head into that game knowing that if they score one goal, that will leave Manchester City needing five goals to progress.
