Gary Lineker saluted Mohamed Salah for a “terrific achievement” after the attacker netted his 40th goal of the season in Liverpool FC’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday night.

The 25-year-old has been in superb form for the Reds this season since having signed for Jurgen Klopp’s side from AS Roma in the summer transfer window last year.

Liverpool FC took the lead in the seventh minute at Anfield when Sadio Mane fired home at the second attempt after Asmir Begovic saved his initial effort.

Salah continued his brilliant form for Liverpool FC when he headed home Trent Alexander-Arnold’s excellent cross in the 69th minute on Merseyside to help the Reds wrap up the three points.

And Roberto Firmino made it 3-0 to the hosts when he fired home a low shop in the 90th minute.

Salah has now netted 30 goals in the Premier League and 40 times in all competitions this season.

And England legend Lineker was quick to take to social media to praise Salah for his impressive tally after his strike on Saturday night.

Lineker wrote on Twitter: “Mo Salah scores his 40th goal of the season. Terrific achievement.”

Liverpool FC will take on AS Roma in the Champions League semi-finals later this month.

The Reds will take on the Italian side at Anfield in the first leg on 24 April, before traveling to Rome for the return leg on 2 May.
