Frank Lampard admits he is impressed with Liverpool FC star Trent Alexander-Arnold’s calmness on the ball.

The Reds are in the Champions League semi-finals thanks to an impressive 5-1 win against Premier League leaders Manchester City in the last eight.

Liverpool FC were 3-0 winners against Manchester City in the home leg at Anfield as the Citizens unsuccessfully attempted to expose Alexander-Arnold.

The 19-year-old was guilty of an error in Liverpool FC’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United before the Liverpool FC star made a similar mistake in a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace.

However, the Liverpool FC teenager managed to tame Manchester City’s impressive Germany international Leroy Sane in a comfortable first-leg win.

Pep Guadiola’s side looked to target Alexander-Arnold in the second leg but the teenager held firm to help Liverpool FC ease to a 2-1 win over the Citizens.

Former Chelsea FC star Lampard was impressed with the Liverpool FC full-back’s composure on the ball despite his inexperience.

“His calmness on the ball is that extra thing,” Lampard told BT Sport. “The boy is so comfortable on the ball.

“If he does it at this level, then why not [include him in the England squad]?”

Liverpool FC are in third place in the Premier League table and four points adrift of second-placed Manchester United.

The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table in Klopp’s first full season in charge at the Merseyside club last term.

Liverpool FC are looking to finish in the Champions League qualification spots in successive seasons.
