The Brazil international has been in brilliant form in the 2017-18 season to enjoy his best campaign at Liverpool FC following his £29m move to the Anfield outfit from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in 2015.
Jurgen Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers managed to sign Firmino but the German head coach has managed to get the best out of the Brazilian forward over the past two and a half seasons.
South American star Firmino scored in Liverpool FC’s 3-0 win against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday evening to take his tally to 15 goals in the English top flight this season.
The 26-year-old has netted nine times and has made four assists in 11 games in the Champions League to help the Reds reach the Champions League semi-finals against Italian giants AS Roma.
Former Newcastle striker Shearer talked up Firmino’s role in Salah’s incredible debut season at Liverpool FC.
“Roberto Firmino is an ideal partner for him because he holds it up,” Shearer told The Sun.
“And, with Sadio Mane as well, all three forwards work their socks off and have been electric this season. It now looks unlikely Salah will be caught for the Golden Boot, even though England star Kane was controversially awarded that goal against Stoke last week.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term in his first full season in charge at Anfield.
The Reds signed Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk in a club record £75m deal from Southampton in the January transfer window.
