
The Egypt international moved to Liverpool FC in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in the 2017 summer transfer window.
Salah has been a revelation in the Premier League following 29 goals in 31 games in the English top flight this term.
The 25-year-old scored the Reds’ winner in a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last weekend.
Salah is one of the leading contenders to win the PFA player of the year award alongside Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.
Former Liverpool FC captain Souness explained why he is such a big fan of the African forward.
“He is always in the right place at the right time,” Souness told Sky Sports. “He is a goal-scorer. He is a clever little player.”
Salah spent eight months at Chelsea FC in 2014 before the African winger moved to Fiorentina on loan.
The African star moved to AS Roma in 2015 before he completed a £16m permanemnt switch to the Italian capital 12 months later.
Only Cristiano Ronaldo has scored more goals than Salah out of Europe’s top five divisions this season.
