Michael Owen has lavished praise on Mohamed Salah after his incredible debut season at Liverpool FC.

The Reds forward scored twice in Liverpool FC’s 5-2 victory over AS Roma in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash.

Liverpool FC eased to a comfortable win after Salah teed up Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane to extend their lead over the Serie A giants.

The Egypt international has scored 11 times in 13 games in the Champions League this season to help the Reds reach the semi-finals.

Salah has netted 31 goals in 33 games in the Premier League to win the PFA player of the year ahead of Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne.

The 25-year-old Liverpool FC star is four goals shy of equalling Ian Rush’s Liverpool FC record of 43 goals in all competitions.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen spoke in glowing terms about Salah ahead of the Reds’s home clash against Stoke City in the Premier League at Anfield in Saturday’s early kick-off.

“I am beginning to run out of superlatives for Mo Salah – all I will say is that the new King of the Kop needs just one more Premier League goal to become the outright top scorer in the history of the competition since it became a 38-game season – in his first season!” Owen told BetVictor.

Salah can surpass Cristiano Ronaldo, Alan Shearer and Luis Suarez with his 32nd goal of the Premier League season if the Egypt international finds the net against the Potters at Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
