Paul Ince is adamant that Liverpool FC can win the Champions League this season.

The Reds sprung a surprise in the quarter-finals following a 5-1 aggregate win against Premier League leaders Manchester City to reach the last four for the first time since 2008.

Liverpool FC were 3-0 winners against the Citizens at Anfield courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Roberto Firmino in the first half of the first leg.

The Reds conceded in the second minute at The Etiahd after Gabriel Jesus’ composed finish but Liverpool FC rallied in the second half and sealed a 2-1 win following goals from Salah and Firmino.

Liverpool FC’s reward for arguably the best performance of the Champions League last eight was a semi-final meeting with AS Roma, who the Reds beat on penalties in the 1984 European Cup final.

Reigning Champions League holders Real Madrid were pitted against Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the other semi-final clash.

Former Liverpool FC star Ince believes Jurgen Klopp’s side shouldn’t fear any of the teams left in the competition.

“Liverpool can win the Champions League without a doubt,” Ince told Paddy Power.

“It’s a competition they are made for. And no other team has looked as impressive as them over the quarter-finals.

“Yes, Real Madrid are always impressive, but they didn’t exactly look great against Juventus in the second leg.

“In fact, I would’ve said Man City were the only team Liverpool should fear that were left in the competition… and look what they did to them.”

Real Madrid are bidding to win the Champions League for a third successive season after los Blancos beat Juventus last term to become the first team to win the competition in consecutive campaigns.
