Robbie Savage has named Real Madrid as favourites to win the Champions League ahead of Liverpool FC.

The Reds booked their place in the Champions League semi-finals thanks to a surprise victory over Manchester City.

The Merseyside outfit were 3-0 winners against Manchester City in the first leg of their last-eight clash at Anfield earlier this month.

Liverpool FC came from 1-0 down to secure a 2-1 victory over the Citizens in the return fixture at the Etihad Stadium.

The 18-time English champions will have to get past Serie A giants AS Roma in the Champions League semi-finals.

Champions League holders Real Madrid will have to beat Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the last four.

Former Leicester star Savage believes Real Madrid are the frontrunners to win the Champions League.

“Real Madrid are favourites,” Savage told BBC Radio 5 Live. “They have won it back to back Champions Leagues.

“They know how to win it. What an amazing job Klopp has done with Liverpool.”

Liverpool FC finished in the Premier League’s top four last season to secure a return to the Champions League.

The Reds lost 3-1 to Sevilla in the Europa League final at Basel back in 2016.
