Jurgen Klopp told Liverpool FC are ‘sharpest’ team left in Champions League
Lee Dixon delivers glowing verdict on Liverpool FC ahead of the second leg of their Champions League semi-final in Rome next week
Lee Dixon believes Liverpool FC are the “sharpest team” out of the four Champions League semi-finalists.
The Reds were 5-2 winners against Serie A giants AS Roma in the first leg of their last-four clash at Anfield on Tuesday night courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
Liverpool FC were 5-0 winners at Porto in the round of 16 before Jurgen Klopp’s side eased to a commanding 5-1 aggregate victory over Premier League champions Manchester City in the last eight.
The Merseyside outfit will face either Champions League holders Real Madrid or Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich in the Kiev final if Liverpool FC manage to avoid an upset in the second leg in Rome.
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Champions League since 2005 but the Reds have scored more goals than any other team in Europe’s premier club competition this season.
Former Arsenal defender Dixon made an exciting prediction about Liverpool FC ahead of their trip to the Italian capital next week.
“Out of all those, Liverpool are the sharpest,” Dixon told ITV Sport.
“They’ve taken this competition by storm and the way that they’re scoring goals, even if they let the odd goal in here and there, that front three can score against anyone.
“I think they’ll fancy facing anybody. Tonight Bayern Munich struggled at the back and Real Madrid did as well.”
Liverpool FC are in third place in the Premier League table ahead of their home clash against Stoke City at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds haven’t won the Premier League crown but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
