Former Liverpool FC captain Redknapp lavished praise on Van Dijk for his immediate impact at the 18-time English champions.
“Van Dijk makes such a difference to that back four,” Redknapp told Sky Sports. “He is so composed. He is so assured.
“That’s what Liverpool have been missing. He is a different class. He makes Liverpool look like a really solid back four.”
Liverpool FC made Van Dijk the most expensive defender in the world following his £75m switch to the Anfield outfit from Southampton.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table in Klopp’s first full season in charge at the Merseyside club last term.
Liverpool FC are looking to finish in the Champions League qualification spots in successive seasons.
