Former Blackburn and Chelsea FC striker Sutton is confident that Van Dijk will only improve in the Liverpool FC team.
“Van Dijk has been the difference,” Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Liverpool look more watertight and more secure. He has really stepped up. I don’t see Lovren making the same mistakes at the rate he did. He is only going to get better.”
Liverpool FC were 3-0 winners against Bournemouth in the Premier League at Anfield last weekend thanks to goals from Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
The Reds are in third place in the Premier League table and a point adrift of Manchester United.
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Champions League since 2005 but the Reds will take on AS Roma for a place in the final.
