Craig Bellamy sends warning to Liverpool FC about Real Madrid

The retired Welsh forward believes Real Madrid are the only team left in the Champions League who can stop Liverpool FC

Craig Bellamy believes Real Madrid are the only team that can stop Liverpool FC in the Champions League.

The Reds were 5-0 winners against FC Porto in the Champions League round of 16 to earn a quarter-final meeting with Manchester City.

Liverpool FC started the tie as the only Premier League team to beat Manchester City in the top-flight campaign after a 4-3 win at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s side went one step better in the first leg of their last-eight clash after a 3-0 victory over Manchester City at Anfield.

Goals from Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Roberto Firmino helped to secure a commanding lead.

Gabriel Jesus scored in the second minute of the return fixture to heap pressure on the Liverpool FC defence.

But Firmino and Salah both scored in the second half to secure Liverpool FC’s place in the Champions League semi-finals.

Real Madrid booked their place in the last four alongside AS Roma and Bayern Munich thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s last-gap penalty.

Former Liverpool FC striker Bellamy claimed that Real Madrid are the only team capable of stopping Klopp’s juggernaut.

“Real Madrid are the only team I could see stopping Liverpool,” Bellamy told Sky Sports.

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.
