Radja Nainggolan has admitted that he was not pleased to see AS Roma be drawn against Liverpool FC in the Champions League semi-finals.

The Reds are preparing to host the Serie A side in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie at Anfield on Tuesday night as they look to try and take a step closer towards reaching next month’s final.

Liverpool FC were in superb form as they sealed a 5-1 win over Manchester City in the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.

The two sides will do battle for a place in the final against either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

And AS Roma star Nainggolan has admitted that he wasn’t pleased to see Liverpool FC come out of the hat in the draw.

Speaking to Belgian outlet HLN, Nainggolan said: “I wasn’t happy with the draw, because in my view Liverpool were the toughest team out of the three.

“It’s not that they have more quality than Real Madrid or Bayern, but they put a lot of hard work in and have nothing to lose.

“Real and Bayern might’ve underestimated Roma, but Liverpool are warriors, a bit like us.”

Liverpool FC are aiming to finish as highly as possible in the Premier League table as they bid to try and qualify for the Champions League via a top-four finish.

The Reds are currently in third place as they look to try and crank the pressure up on second-placed Manchester United.

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League last season under Jurgen Klopp.
