The 19-year-old has earned plenty of praise for his strong and mature performances for the Reds whenever he has been called upon by Jurgen Klopp this season.
The defender earned particular praise for his brilliant display in Liverpool FC’s 2-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday last week.
The teenager has scored two goals and made one assist in a total of 24 games for Klopp’s men in all competitions this season.
And Liverpool FC legend Carragher seems certain that the Englishman has a long-term future waiting for him at Anfield.
Speaking in an interview with the Liverpool Echo, Carragher said: “Trent is going to be a Liverpool player for a long time.
“I honestly think he could end up making more appearances for the club than I did.
“He will need to avoid injuries, but he’s only going to get better and he’s going to take a lot of shifting.”
Liverpool FC will take on AS Roma in the Champions League semi-finals as they look to try and reach the final in Kiev next month.
Should the Reds progress through to the showpiece, they will take on either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich as they look to try and win the competition for the first time since 2005.
Liverpool FC are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they chase a top-four finish under Klopp this season.
