Salah continued his fine form on Tuesday night when he scored Liverpool FC’s crucial first away goal in their 2-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League at The Etihad.
That strike helped the Reds to secure their progress into the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they will either face Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or AS Roma.
And former Liverpool FC captain Gerrard has admitted that he he has been hugely impressed with the way that Salah has been adapting to life on Merseyside.
Speaking to BT Sport, Gerrard said: “They do [Liverpool FC] have a new hero.
“His numbers have been fantastic. He’s scored some fantastic goals.”
Salah and his Liverpool FC team-mates will take on Bournemouth at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The Reds are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and secure Champions League qualification for next season.
