The defender had to be replaced seven minutes from time at Anfield as the Reds wrapped up a Premier League victory to boost their hopes of finishing in the top four this season.
Lovren has been a regular fixture in the Liverpool FC team this season and Reds fans will be hoping that the problem is not too serious, especially with a Champions League semi-final clash against AS Roma on the horizon.
However, Klopp was unable to give any more information on Lovren’s knock after he was substituted late on on Saturday evening.
Speaking at his post-match news conference, Klopp said: “I didn’t see the knock. I would love if it would be because of a ‘knock’ [rather than] a strain or tear or whatever. I have no clue.
“He felt something but I didn’t speak to him afterwards, I only saw that he was limping.
“We made a change because we could make that change – we had a centre-half on the bench. Hopefully [it is] not too serious, of course, but I cannot say more now.”
Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action next weekend with a trip to West Bromwich Albion in the top flight.
Klopp’s side will be aiming to try and at least finish in third place in the Premier League table as they look to secure a spot in the group stage of next season’s Champions League.
The Reds will also be hoping to set up a Champions League final clash against either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich by beating AS Roma in the semis.
