The Egypt international has been earning plenty of praise for his strong performances for the Reds since his move to Anfield from AS Roma in the summer transfer window last year.
The 25-year-old has been in sensational form for the Merseyside outfit and has scored a staggering 29 goals in 31 Premier League games for Jurgen Klopp’s men this term.
Salah continued his brilliant form by scoring one and setting up another in Liverpool FC’s impressive 3-0 win over Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash on Wednesday night.
And Lampard, who played alongside Salah during his short spell at Chelsea FC, has admitted that he has been hugely impressed by what he has seen from the Egyptian this season.
Speaking to BT Sport, Lampard said: “He has stepped another level in the last month, six weeks.
“He’s been consistently doing it, affecting every game he’s involved in and elevating himself to a player who’s now on the world scene in a big way. He’s up there with the best players in the world.”
Liverpool FC are currently preparing for their Premier League showdown against Everton at Goodison Park in the top flight on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds, who ended up fourth last term, are currently in third place in the table as they chase a top-four finish for the second season running in the top flight.
