The Reds are preparing to welcome the Premier League leaders to Anfield for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Merseyside as both teams look to take an advantage into next week’s second leg at The Etihad.
Liverpool FC warmed up for the game by coming from a goal down to claim a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday thanks to Mohamed Salah’s winner in the second half.
Manchester City, meanwhile, took another big step towards winning the title when they secured a 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park to leave them just one victory from securing the trophy.
Liverpool FC will be hoping to take the initiative in the last eight tie in front of their home fans in a competitions which is their last remaining hope of a trophy this season.
And Klopp has warned the Citizens that he will set up his team to cause Manchester City some serious problems this week.
Klopp is quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “The way we attack the opponent, the way we defend high is unpleasant (for our opponents). If we do that well they will have some difficulty coping with it.
“It will be very exciting. There’s no guarantee this will work. In the end it’s the lads on the pitch who will decide the game.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League last season and they are currently third in the table.
