The Citizens are preparing to travel to Anfield for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash on Wednesday night as they look to try and take a step towards the semi-finals.
They are set to come up against one of European football’s most in-form players, with Salah having been a revelation at Anfield since his move to the club from AS Roma in the summer transfer window last year.
Salah has scored an astounding 29 goals in 31 Premier League games for Liverpool FC so far this season and was the Reds’ hero once more when he netted the winner in the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
And Liverpool FC defender Van Dijk feels that Salah can beat anyone when he is on form.
Asked if Salah was capable of doing serious damage to Manchester City this week, Van Dijk told Sky Sports: “That’s what everyone knows. That’s how we feel as well.”
He continued: “Mo is a great guy and works hard, just like the rest of the guys.
“I think everyone in the dressing room are just normal guys. Nobody feels better than each other, everybody is working hard for each other to get the win.
“That’s a very good thing to have in a team. Everyone knows our team spirit and without all of us Mo wouldn’t have scored his goals.
“That’s what he knows and that’s what everyone knows. Everyone needs to be giving 100 per cent and I think we do that.”
Liverpool FC, who are third in the Premier League, will be hoping to gain a positive result against Pep Guardiola’s men to take into the return leg at The Etihad on 10 April.
