Jurgen Klopp lavished yet more praise on Mohamed Salah after the Egypt international helped to inspire Liverpool FC to a 5-2 win over AS Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The 25-year-old was once again in fine form as he helped Liverpool FC to take a big step towards reaching the final of Europe’s elite club competition.

Salah netted Liverpool FC’s first two goals before half-time and then set up both Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino as the Reds raced into a 4-0 lead.

Firmino then added a fifth from a corner, before AS Roma netted twice late on to give themselves some faint hope of reaching the final in the return leg next week.

Salah has now scored a staggering 43 goals in all competitions for Klopp’s men since his transfer to Anfield from AS Roma last summer.

And Klopp was naturally full of praise for the Egypt international after his man of the match display on Tuesday night.

Speaking at his post-match news conference, Klopp said: “If you think he’s the best in the world, write it or say it.

“He is in outstandingly good shape, in world-class shape, 100 per cent. That’s good. To be the best in the world you need to do that over a longer period, I think.

“There are a few others who are not too bad. He is a fantastic player and I’m really happy to have him.”

Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action this weekend with a home clash against Stoke, before the Reds will turn their attentions towards the return leg of their Champions League semi-final clash in Rome on Wednesday night next week.
