Jurgen Klopp admits Liverpool FC star’s form is ‘not normal’
Jurgen Klopp heaps yet more praise on Mohamed Salah after Liverpool FC's win over AS Roma
Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Mohamed Salah and admitted that his form for Liverpool FC this season is “not normal”.
The Egypt international netted twice in the first half of Liverpool FC’s 5-2 win over AS Roma in the Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday night at Anfield.
Those two strikes took his tally for the season in all competitions up to a staggering 42 goals, and he was voted as the PFA player of the year over the weekend.
Salah has been one of European football’s top performers this season, and he also notched up two assists as he was named as the man of the match in Liverpool FC’s win over AS Roma on Tuesday night.
And Klopp was once again full of praise for Salah after he helped Liverpool FC to take a big step towards reaching the Champions League final on Tuesday night.
Speaking at his post-match news conference, Klopp said: “He plays a season which is obviously – because everybody is excited about it – not normal.
“We hope and try to help him so he can continue like that. That’s the job to do. It’s a team game, but you need the players to make the decisions to make the decisive things.
“Obviously he is very good at making decisive things, so we are really happy we could get him in the summer.”
Liverpool FC will now turn their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their home clash against Stoke City at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
They will then focus on the return leg of their Champions League semi-final clash against Roma in the Italian capital next Wednesday night.
