The Egypt international was not included in the Liverpool FC squad for their derby clash against Everton on Saturday afternoon after he picked up an injury in the 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Salah has been working on his fitness levels with the Liverpool FC medical team in recent days as he bids to make himself available for the return leg of the Reds’ clash with Manchester City next week.
And Klopp has revealed that he is hoping for the 25-year-old to have recovered in time for Liverpool FC’s trip to Manchester City on Tuesday night.
Speaking to Sky Sports before Saturday’s derby clash, Klopp said: “There’s always close talks to the medical department, who is 100 per cent you always have to wait until the last minute with short breaks between games.
“He’s [Salah] injured. Hopefully I don’t think it’s really serious and he’ll be available for Tuesday, but for today he wasn’t available.”
Salah has been one of the Premier League’s top performers this season since his move to Anfield from AS Roma last summer, scoring 29 goals in 31 games.
The attacker netted Liverpool FC’s opening goal in their 3-0 win over Manchester City in the first leg last week.
He also set up Sadio Mane for the Reds’ third goal with a brilliant cross at Anfield, before picking up a knock in the second half.
