Robbie Savage has warned Liverpool FC that Mohamed Salah’s injury could be a potentially devastating blow for the Red this season.

The Egypt international has been one of the Premier League’s top performing players this season and he has been earning plenty of praise for his strong displays since his move from AS Roma last summer.

Indeed, Salah has scored an incredible 29 goals in 31 Premier League games for the Reds to help them up into third place in the Premier League table.

Salah netted Liverpool FC’s opening goal in their impressive 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday night and also set up Sadio Mane’s header with a quality cross.

However, the 25-year-old attacker was forced off just seven minutes into the second half of the European tie after picking up what appears to be a groin problem.

And although the extent of the injury is not yet known, former midfielder Savage feels that the setback could be a huge blow to the Reds.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live on Wednesday night, Savage said: “You wonder how bad that groin injury might be for Salah.

“He has walked off, so it could be precautionary, but [it is] potentially a huge blow to Liverpool.”

Liverpool FC now turn their attentions towards their crunch Premier League clash against Everton in the top flight at Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime.
