Robbie Savage has warned Liverpool FC’s players that their Champions League quarter-final tie is far from over despite their dominant 3-0 win over Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Jurgen Klopp’s men produced a brilliant performance at Anfield to take a big step closer towards securing their place in the semi-finals.

Liverpool FC took the lead through Mohamed Salah’s close range goal, before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made it 2-0 to the hosts shortly after with a brilliant long-range strike.

Sadio Mane then capped a brilliant first-half display when he headed home Salah’s cross in the 31st minute to put Liverpool FC in control of the tie.

However, the Liverpool FC mood was dampened somewhat after Salah limped off with what appeared to be a groin injury early in the second half.

Jordan Henderson will also miss the return leg at The Etihad next Tuesday after the Reds captain picked up a booking on Wednesday night.

And former midfielder Savage believes that the tie is not yet over despite Liverpool FC’s impressive win in front of their home fans on Wednesday.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Savage said: “We’ve seen Real 3-0 up, tie is over. Real Madrid 3-0 up on Juventus, I think the tie is over. Barcelona 4-1 up. The tie is over. Bayern against Sevilla, the tie is over.

“But is this tie over? No Henderson, is Salah going to be fit? I don’t think it is over.”

Liverpool FC now switch their attentions back towards Premier League action and their crunch clash with Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
