Ian Wright is convinced that Liverpool FC have what it takes to win the Champions League this season under Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds have been in fine form in Europe’s elite club competition this term and took a big step towards the final thanks to a 5-2 thrashing of AS Roma in the first leg of their semi-final clash at Anfield on Tuesday night.

Both Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino scored twice, to add to Sadio Mane’s goal as Klopp’s men raced into a 5-0 lead in the semi-final clash.

However, the Reds conceded two late goals at Anfield to give AS Roma some faint hope of reaching the final at the expense of the Premier League side.

Liverpool FC will take on AS Roma in the return leg in Italy on Wednesday night as they look to cement their place in the final against either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

And former Arsenal star Wright feels that the Reds have clearly demonstrated that they are capable of going all the way in the Champions League this season.

Speaking on The Debate on Sky Sports, Wright said: “Yes [Liverpool FC can win the Champions League].

“No team will want to play a Liverpool team who can play like that. Especially in a one off game.”

Liverpool FC will return to Premier League action on Saturday when they take on Stoke City at Anfield.
