Roy Keane sets challenge for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at Liverpool FC
Roy Keane wants to see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain be more consistent with his performances for Liverpool FC
Roy Keane has challenged Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to be more consistent after his strong display in Liverpool FC’s 3-0 win over Manchester City on Wednesday night.
The England international has been settling into life at Anfield after opting to leave Arsenal to sign for the Reds in the summer transfer window last year.
He has made a solid start to his Liverpool FC career, scoring five goals and making five assists in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Oxlade-Chamberlain scored Liverpool FC’s second goal in their dominant 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League at Anfield on Wednesday night with a brilliant long-range effort.
Former Manchester United midfielder Keane has been impressed with what he has seen from the 24-year-old – but now wants him to be more consistent as he bids to fulfil his potential.
Speaking to ITV Sport on Wednesday night, Keane said: “It is fantastic [for him].
“There are question marks over his end-product. He has scored some big goals recently.
“He is 24 now and he needs to be a lot more consistent in his performances.”
Oxlade-Chamberlain will be hoping to feature for Liverpool FC when the Reds return to Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime with a crunch derby clash against Everton at Goodison Park.
The Reds are currently in third place in the Premier League table as they bid to finish in the top four for the second season running.
