Steve Nicol has identified Gianluigi Donnarumma and Alisson Becker as two goalkeepers good enough to become Liverpool FC’s number one.

The Reds have been linked with a move to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window to finally resolve a problem position.

Belgium international Simon Mignolet has struggled to convince Liverpool FC supporters over the past four and a half seasons at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp signed German goalkeeper Loris Karius in a £4.7m deal from Bundesliga giants Mainz 05 in the 2016 summer transfer window.

The former Manchester City shot stopper has impressed over the past couple of months but doubts linger over Karius’ future.

Liverpool FC have been linked with a potential swoop to sign AS Roma shot stopper Alisson, but the Reds will face competition from Real Madrid.

Former Reds defender Nicol believes Alisson or AC Milan’s young goalkeeper Donnarumma would be great signings for Liverpool FC.

“I would have no problem with him [Alisson],” Nicol told ESPN FC.

“I’d have no problem with Donnarumma who would be your goalkeeper for the next decade.”

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.

The Reds snapped up Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk in a £75m deal from Southampton in the January transfer window.
