Ray Parlour has told Jurgen Klopp that Liverpool FC need to sign two more players to challenge Manchester City next term.

The Reds are in third place in the Premier League table but 18 points adrift of runaway leaders Manchester City.

Liverpool FC are the division’s second-highest goal-scorers behind the Citizens after netting 75 times in 33 games.

The Merseyside outfit are in the Champions League semi-finals thanks to a 5-1 aggregate win over Manchester City.

The Reds were 3-0 winners against Pep Guardiola’s side in the first leg at Anfield thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Roberto Firmino.

Liverpool FC conceded in the second minute at the Etihad Stadium following Gabriel Jesus’ opener but the Reds rallied and won 2-1 thanks to goals from Firmino and Salah.

Former Arsenal star Parlour believes Liverpool FC require two more additions to challenge for the Premier League title next term.

“They are two or three players away from putting a challenge in,” Parlour told Sky Sports.

“There have been question marks about the goalkeeper but he has been better. I am sure Klopp what positions he needs to improve.”

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to secure a return to the Champions League.

The Reds have kept eight clean sheets in their last 13 games in all competitions to highlight their improvement at the back.
